I have used this office and all the attorneys for many different legal matters. If you are looking for top notch attorneys that care more about the client than the paycheck they receive then look no further!!! You definitely will not find a group of harder working or honest attorneys. All the attorneys put your best interest first and don't try and sell you what you want to hear. they are the most honest and caring group of attorneys that I have ever had the pleasure to deal with!!

Retained Lenny Cohen on a recommendation from a close friend. Immediately I felt comfortable in dealing with my divorce, and I was married over 30 years! Always sound advice, he never rushed me into a settlement, always returned my calls, and never overcharged, as I have heard horror stories of other attorney's. My ex wife actually went up to him after the divorce was final, and said, she wished she had him for an attorney!! It was like talking to good friend over a couple of drinks!! Highly recommended!!

Definition of Impairment According to New Jersey Law

Under New Jersey law, a driver is guilty of drunk driving if they have a BAC (blood alcohol concentration) of .08 or higher. Penalties for DUI charges become more severe depending on the age of the offender, BAC level, and if it is your second or third offense.

Drivers who are operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs may also be charged with impaired driving. These charges can have penalties that are just as severe as DWI charges.

How We Can Defend You in Court Some Strategies Our Defense Attorneys May Use

Court with judges and defendant

Field Sobriety Tests Review

Field sobriety tests are set by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. If an officer claims you failed the field sobriety tests, our DUI lawyers will carefully review if the tests were administered properly. If there are any discrepancies, our attorneys will challenge your drunk driving charges.

Potential Law Enforcement Errors

Police must follow strict procedures when stopping drivers for a DUI or DWI. The DUI lawyers at our firm will examine police reports, video recordings of your stop, and any records associated with your DUI case. If there have been any violations of your rights or the police failed to follow protocol, our lawyers will use it as part of your defense.

Investigate the Equipment

If you submitted a breathalyzer test, our DUI lawyers will investigate if the test was administered correctly. We can also check if the equipment was working properly. Our DUI attorneys know how breath-testing devices operate and can hold police accountable for faulty test results.

Should I Refuse a Breathalyzer?

Man taking breathalyzer test

You have a right to refuse any sobriety tests that police ask you to do. However, it is not always advantageous to refuse tests.

Individuals refusing to submit to a breathalyzer test in New Jersey can face penalties. Under state law, a first-time DUI offender who refuses a breathalyzer can face a fine of up to $500 and a license suspension until an ignition interlock device is installed. Second-time offenders can face a fine of up to $1,000 and up to two-years license suspension.

In some cases, it can be more difficult to defend a DUI offender if they refuse the test. The prosecuting side may argue you refused the test as an omission of guilt. Without submitting to the test, our DUI attorneys won't have an opportunity to investigate if the office had faulty equipment or if they failed to follow the correct protocol.

I highly recommend this law firm! From the moment of my first conversation with attorney F.R. "Chip" Dunne, I knew I was in good hands and was I ever correct! They did an excellent job representing me and achieving the best outcome for me and my family. Of course, Chip is a very skilled lawyer but I want to stress the fact that he is very caring and has excellent people skills. He and his staff are so personable and made an extremely unpleasant situation bearable and even stress-free. He gets results and I am very grateful for his talent, professionalism, kindness, and result-driven optimism.

This by far is the best group of attorney's. I have had the pleasure of dealing with Fred, Chip, and Lenny from custody, real estate, and other personal matters. They truly go above and beyond for their clients. Each attorney treats and represents you as you were one of there own family members. I have dealt with attorneys in the past in regards to the family courts and made to feel like you were just another pay check for them. But let me be perfectly clear, that is not the case at Dunne, Dunne, & Cohen. I have dealt with Lenny for years, and would and do recommend him to anyone having to deal with any family matters.
